We no longer have any of our beloved does or doelings. As of fall 2024 I developed Alpha Gal Syndrome. If you are unfamiliar, it is caused by a tick bite, and your body develops an anaphylactic allergy to mammals. It is individualized and reactions can differ greatly. I tried all winter long to manage my symptoms but soon realized I would no longer be able to take over the herd after Kori graduated high school. Simply being in the barn was causing anaphylactic reactions all winter long. We slowly transitioned and began the process of finding our herd new homes. We were lucky enough to find 5 wonderful families for our does and bucks. I can happily say it is now February of 2026, and our herd is doing well and very much loved with their new families. We are kept up to date on all the new births, and we love receiving all the photos of them thriving. Even though we miss them dearly every single day, we know it was the best choice for me to continue to heal and recover.
